That is the key....and not give in. :)

Blessings.Chris@Joyful Motherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00721525071153767987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8802544270145492445.post-28996341397565287972009-08-12T14:16:47.859-07:002009-08-12T14:16:47.859-07:00I've got some breakfast ideas on my blog. If you are going to make these, make a ton and freeze the leftovers. I just pull them out the night before and have it thawed out for breakfast. You can look on my blog under lables-->recipes-->breakfast for ideas.

As for kids not being diligent. What finally broke my son of this is when I told him his regular chores had to be done before breakfast. Here's the catch! Breakfast is done being served by (blank) time. If he was done by then, he had to wait until lunch to eat. I started this when he turned 5 years old. He missed a few meals, but it didn't take long for him to learn that I was serious and he better get his stuff done if he wanted to eat.

Hope that helps! Homeschooling is a lot of work isn'...Hi Chris! Homeschooling is a lot of work isn't it? I think I could spend all day taking care of my little ones. Then spend all day cooking and cleaning. Then spend that same "all day" homeschooling--it's 3 full time jobs! PHEW! Thank God for his grace to get it all done!

I like to make pancakes for breakfast...My husband just got me two griddles that sit on the burners of my stove top, so I can make about 16 pancakes at a time. I also make muffins once or twice a week, always a double batch. Eggs with turkey bacon, Toast with honey butter and hard-boiled eggs, oatmeal, cold cereal when I'm tired.

I was just giving my children a lecture this morning about being too old to be reminded to get their morning stuff done. I told them if I went off and did my own thing each morning, nobody would eat! They know I work hard and feel bad when they know they aren't! Remember what Proverbs says? If you don't work, you don't eat! That's always motivating, especially to my teenagers! lol

God Bless you Chris!!Carissa Blanchard https://www.blogger.com/profile/18121113628366069653noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8802544270145492445.post-67616386958121873852009-08-11T17:26:56.156-07:002009-08-11T17:26:56.156-07:00I love to make bread pudding for breakfast. You can get cheap raisen bread and have it in your freezer, or I use the heels of my own home-baked bread (no one in my family likes the heels). Mix 10 or so eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla and pour it over the cubed bread. I make two batches at a time one for the next morning and one for the freezer. We pour honey, maple syrup or top it with whipped cream.

Also, scrambled eggs are a quick breakfast with a piece of whole wheat toast and a small dish of yogurt.

I never allow my kids to eat different things. I'd go crazy!Stacie, A Firefighter's Wifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14195223939229023945noreply@blogger.com
